It's crazy how fast time has flown by!! I am on the last week of ministry for my time in the Outer Heberdies of Scotland. Since last time that I was able to write, we have already moved twice, but still all on the Isle of Lewis. From Stornoway, we moved to a town called Carloway to camp for a few days and speak in the Church of Scotland. However, when returning from church to our campsite, we found our beloved tent (whom we've named Barb), flattened. A major windstorm had stormed through while we were at church and shattered the poles. After having a minor funeral for Barb, we were blessed by a local family who allowed us to move into their holiday cottage that they own in the village of Barvas. And let me tell you, this place is amazing!!! Brand new everything as it is only about a year old. It's quite an upgrade from an old 8 person tent!!
From that.....to this....
We have been having an amazing time here in Barvas. This place was the site of the last Holy Spirit Revival here on the Isle from 1949-1953. There were thousands of people converted all without hardly any preaching happening...it was all just the conviction of Holy Spirit upon people. Anyway, so that is the history of this place that we are currently in. This past Sunday night we were privileged to be the guest speakers at a Youth Testimony night. There were about 4 different Youth Groups that gathered from all over the west side of the Isle, this is the first time that has ever happened here. Division among churches is something that has a huge hold over this area, so for that to happen is huge! Anyway, two of our members, Brooke and Katie, gave testimony that night and it was amazing!! There were about 80 people there and God was moving in a big way. There wasn't a dry eye in the place and a couple people that ended up giving their life to Jesus as a result of the evening! All I can say is that night definitely pumped us up for this final week of ministry here. The last few days we've been going into the schools here and playing games, singing songs, and sharing about Jesus. It still blows my mind that we are even able to do that here. Praise the Lord for no separation of church and state here! We will also be having another Testimony night this coming Sunday, but this one is more for everyone rather than just youth...there is an expected attendance of about 150-200 people. So if you think about it, I am sure that my team and I would love prayer for that night. We are expecting to see God do some incredible things through that.
